2012 Master Gardening Series Kickoff with Henry Homeyer!
Saturday, March 17, 10-noon

(This program, open to all, is the first of a six-part series of hands-on gardening workshops being presented by the Sullivan County Master Gardeners in conjunction with the UNH Extension Service.)

Meet Henry Homeyer--renowned garden expert, newspaper columnist, author and Vermont Public Radio commentator--to celebrate the start of a new growing season. Homeyer demonstrates a sampling of his favorite garden tools and discusses how they can be used to make the most of your gardening practices. He will answer your questions and sign copies of his books, including his latest: Organic Gardening (not just) in the Northeast: A Hands-On Month-by-Month Guide. Following Homeyer's talk, Fells Landscape Assistant Tressa Gaffney leads a workshop and on-site demonstration of proper pruning techniques and rejuvenation of neglected gardens.

Attend one, all 6, or something in between. Pick and choose your favorite topics from pruning to vegetable gardening to container gardening to perennials. Requested donation $6 per person each session, or $25 for the entire series, to benefit The Fells. Other dates in the series are April 12 and 19; May 17; and June 26. The first session meets at the Lake Sunapee Protective Association's Knowlton House, 63 Main Street, Sunapee NH. The remaining 5 sessions meet at The Fells Gatehouse. Registrations required for all but Henry Homeyer kickoff.
