Each season offers new opportunities to learn about our natural world here at The Fells. Frogs and salamanders return to vernal pools each spring; summers boast blooming gardens and beautiful art shows in the Main House; golden colors decorate the woodland trails in autumn and winter snow cover provides a canvas on which to track mammal prints.
Share this New Hampshire treasure with your class, camp, or family by exploring the woods and gardens of The Fells with our Nature Explorer Activity Kit! Topics include; Finding Your Way and Safety, Mammals, Birds and Insects, Spiders and Webs, Animal Tracks, Trees, Habitats, and Nature Journaling.
Each kit includes binoculars, a magnifying glass, a NH animals track guide, an ecology-themed activity booklet (appropriate for grades K-4), map, clipboard, and pen--all packed into a convenient backpack. (Note that teachers/leaders may want to provide supplementary material for older students.) Backpacks generously donated by Eastern Mountain Sports.
Packs may be signed out at The Fells Gatehouse weekdays, 9am-4pm, excluding holidays. Advance arrangements may be made by calling 603-763-4789 x3.
For more information about school and youth group educational opportunities and admission fees contact Education Director Michael Caduto mcaduto@thefells.org or call 603-763-4789 ext. 5.
